Beautiful and comfortable stay

Picture

avoid the crowd of shivpuri and rather stay here its opposite petrol pump on main highway with hike park for kids just few steps away and zipline just few meters away...best thing about bulls retreat is the friendly staff and the way this property is built and maintained they have spacious green parks inside the vicinity lots of space to park play and even a small zipline for kids.. there is also a nice restaurant big enough to have private parties and in lodging besides rooms adjacent to each other one has options of cottages type room with interesting names like indus, zanskar etc...property is run by Ex Armyperson and it has a small musuem dedicated to mount everest..interesting.

This place is located a little ahead of Rishikesh main point. It is a dog friendly hotel, you can take your dogs at this hotel without any extra charges or any kind of hassle. The rooms are beautifully done and the location is to die for. The staffs were courteous and the food was divine. Cant wait to stay at this hotel the next time I am on a visit to Rishikesh.

Excellent resort, really pet friendly, hospitable staff

We, family of 4 (including our dog Casper) checked in on the 19th and stayed 2 nights and left reluctantly on the 21st. The resort, its location, the ambiance and the upkeep are all commendable. Everyone from the receptionist to the people in the restaurant to the people in housekeeping all made us feel at home. Casper could roam around freely in the lawn and enjoyed the lush green, well maintained grass carpet. We also enjoyed our time at the river where we were taken by 2 staff, so humble and acted as excellent hosts. We love to go there again and will recommend this place to all pet lovers. My best wishes to everyone in the resort and to the management who has inculcated such good qualities in the staff.Show less
Room Tip: Convenience, Excellent staff, homely atmosphere.

Their tour's/ treks are well planned and managed by Col.Kumars team.He himself is a living legend, who led the first successful Indian expedition to Mount Everest and the Midway point on Siachen glacier is named after him as the 'Kumar Point'.
Have been fortunate to meet him many times and enjoyed his company and hospitality.

It’s always a pleasure staying at Bull’s Retreat, whether it’s a long stay or it’s a transit stay. The rooms and the overall atmosphere is excellent. The food quality is at its best…
Bull’s Retreat has become our favourite destination enroute Rishikesh and other Garhwal destinations.
Bull’s is doing a great service to its visitors.

Amazing resort and best food

We had a fantastic time in this resort and specially enjoyed their food - the best we had during our stay inRishikesh. The staff was very polite and courteous. They also arranged for the rafting was with a reliable partner. The resort has a private road which takes you to the river, and the staff was kind enough to accompany us. When I visit again - I will definitely come back here.

:) The staff here are fantastic - they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, and instantly upgraded our room when we checked in as the one we had booked wasn't ready. Safety standards when we went wild swimming were very high. We felt very well looked after during our stay.

Five of us were en route to Sikkim and stopped in Delhi for an overnight side trip to Agra and the Taj Mahal. Judy Smith at Mercury handled all our logistics: airport pickup, airport hotel, driver to and from Agra, Agra hotel, local English-speaking guide, airport hotel back to Delhi and airport drop-off with check-in help. Every detail was perfect. No hassles at all. The hotels were clean, quiet and convenient -- just what we wanted. The price was extremely reasonable, about $250 a person. Judy seems to be on email at all hours of the day and responded amazingly quickly to all my enquiries. I highly recommend Judy and Mercury, and will definitely hire them the next time I'm in India.

Kuari Pass

Picture

It was with a lot of apprehension that I booked for the trek...kuari pass from chefna was a moderately challenging climb, and I was getting my kids for this kind of activity for the first time.Me and my wife are ardent trekkers ,but I was not sure of the kids reaction.

And so on day 1 ,the cribbing started...and never came back. For the next 7 days,I didn't hear a peep from the boys ,as they were pampered and entertained by Mahendra [our leader]and company. All of them including Dharam,Bhiru ,Kamal and even the khaccharwalas were outstanding humans first and great professionals later.Eating Chinese and burgers at 4000metres certainly helped the cause!

I felt well taken care of and the safety standards were excellent. I believe that you get what you pay for ...and this trip was"paisa vasool" in every way!

Thank you for a wonderful experience and hope to join you guys again on another adventure.

My best holiday in 2017

Picture
Picture
We made a plan to spend NYE2017/18 at Bull’s Retreat not knowing quite what to expect but sure that we’d have a good enough time.
Boy! Was I wrong!

We had a BRILLIANT time.
The place is beautifully situated, the rooms are so clean I had a feeling I could have eaten my meals off the floor, the owners are heavily invested in each of their guests having a memorable time without being intrusive, and the food.... the food is sublime.

From lazing on the hammock with my Kindle, to a fun game of badminton that turned into two solid hours of play, to kayaking off the beach, morning hikes up the mountain topped off with kahwa & cookies at the peak, cycling around on the mountain bikes they encourage you to use, the Ayurvedic massage arranged by the team at very short notice... the trip was both action-packed and deeply relaxing and all credit for this goes to the dedicated team that manages Bull’s Retreat.

My heartfelt thanks to Dilshad, Akshay, Sula bhai, Arif Bhai, Arjun, Gopal Bhaiyya and rest at Bill’s Retreat. You’ve got a lifelong guest in me.

Very nice affordable resort style stay near Shivpuri

Picture

We were 2 families with 4 adults/4 kids and stayed here on the Eid weekend this year. We booked super deluxe rooms. The rooms offered were spacious and clean, but basic only, not much luxury.
Resort is right on the highway, so connectivity is excellent but then you have to bear some vehicle noise. Though they have done an excellent job with greenery, once inside you don't realise that you are bang on highway until you hear some vehicle honking on road.
Kids had lots of fun on the trampoline and foosball table, other activities they enjoyed was basketball, football, cricket, badminton and just running around the lawns.
Equipment though was again basic and could have been better maintaned. Foosball table had one pin broken, trampoline had few straps missing posing a possible injury hazard.
Staff at resort was super nice - Harish took good care of us. The cook Arif is awesome - he churned out awesome omelette s and dosas at breakfast and was super friendly with kids. The yoghurt eggplant (brinjal) on our first dinner was amazing and was break from the usual dal makhani and paneer fare. Overall food quality was good.
Mahendra? Took us for a morning hike to the river, that was wonderful experience.
Adventure zone is nearby providing even more fun options for kids.
They have a mountaineering museum with good exhibits and tons of information, kids had a good walk thru and peek into the mountaineering world.
Overall a good experience, we will recommend it to friends.

Beautiful jungle resort with a wonderful staff

Picture
Picture
:) The location was perfect for Safaris in Bandhavgarh NP. The ambiance of the resort was perfectly suited for the jungle location. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful with all aspects of our stay. The staff went out of their way to meet all of our travel needs and are the highlight of the resort.

:( It looks as though some of the cosmetic aspects of the resort are in need of repair. It’s nothing that adversely affected our stay, however there are definitely some areas that could use improvement such as crumbling roof tiles, and other building components in a state of disrepair.

New Delhi, Agra & Srinagar = WOW!

Picture
Picture

With only a week to commit to my first trip to India I wanted to hit some long-awaited highlights - namely the Taj Mahal & the houseboats in Srinagar - travelling solo for the most part meant I was extra-conscious of my safety. Judy Smith at Mercury Himalayan Explorations handled all the organising: Delhi airport pickup & hotel, driver around Delhi & to and from Agra, English-speaking guides etc etc. Everything went like clockwork. My nerves about going to Kashmir were assuaged & with good reason! So glad I braved it, significant security presence but nothing for a traveller to worry about!! I highly recommend Judy and Mercury, and will definitely hire them the next time I'm in India.
